The Entire Earth and Sky: Views on Antarctica

When I went to Antarctica for the first time with Greenpeace, I was hoping to "save the world." In the 20 years since, I have compiled memoirs and stories, learning the geology, geography, and glaciology of this icy continent, while documenting my own journey. THE ENTIRE EARTH AND SKY emerged from all this as a collage of legends, stories, field notes, images, reports, histories, letters, and personal observation. To me it reflects the feel of the place itself, the most beautiful place on Earth, a wilderness that inhabits cultures across the globe and across time. The Antarctic invites each of us to reflect on life on Earth as both microscopic and vast.
